Exploring the Old City of Nice, France

"Ladies who Segway"

Here are just a few snaps so far of the beautiful part of Nice I visited today, the Old City. This is one of the most stunning, chilled out and historically amazing places I've been to. There is so much to look at and experience with every corner you turn and I love the traditional look and feel of this part of Nice. All of the high rise buildings, the open shutters on every window, residents washing lining the skyline and of course, the sensational food from all of the local restaurants. I cannot wait to explore more and hopefully tomorrow, dip my toes in the Aqua Blue Ocean that lines the entire coast of Nice.

River Walks & Nutella Crepes

My lovely shocked face while taking sip. Good job me!

I met up with my friend Amie (who will soon be my new housemate in just over a months time!) on Monday and we decided to go for a nice walk along the Putney river and have some lunch. It wasn't the warmest of days but at least it wasn't raining. I cannot stand rain!

We sauntered our way down the river side, watched some dogs happily playing in the river and then strolled our way over to Smugglers Cafe. The food in there was so delicious, both mine and Amie's mouths were watering as our food arrived at our table. I opted for mashed Avocado on Sourdough Bread with a Poached egg, it was incredible! We also delved into their dessert menu which included a Gluten Free Chocolate & Salted Caramel Brownie and a warm Crepe with Nutella, Banana and Ice-Cream. Oh. My. Gosh. I was in heaven.
I think that is going to fast become one of my favourite places to eat. The staff are so incredibly friendly and welcoming and it's just the cutest little place to sit in with a nice warming atmosphere! If you live in or near the Putney area then I highly recommend you pay Smugglers a visit. you won't be disappointed.

Once we had stuffed out bellies, we carried on to a near by pub and sat outside and had a drink. Another place I'm sure I will find myself in more as the weather warms up and the sun reappears. Then we toddled back off to my house so Amie could help me pack for my upcoming trip to France (as I was having a panic attack about my carry on suitcase. 1st world problems much)

All in all it was a relaxed, pleasant and fun day. Just what the doctor ordered!

The Sunday Edit: A Chilled Day

As the title suggests, today has been pretty chill for me. It's the first few days into my 19 day break from work and suffice to say, I'm taking it bloody easy! So far I have drank my weight in tea, indulged in some Lemon and Pistachio cake (so delicious!) and actually sorted my bedroom out! I've been needing to do that for a long time now. I'm also washing my bedding at the moment and I cannot wit for that to be dry. There is simply nothing better than getting into a fresh set of sheets in an evening and knowing you can sleep in the next day. Total. Bliss.
I'm welcoming all of this goodness with open arms as I've had a hectic few weeks at work (Friday saw me cut my head open and give myself concussion! Good job Kim) Last week the Chelsea Flower Show hit the streets of Chelsea, and so it was go go go for the Visual Team for the Window Displays and in-store at Peter Jones! It was crazy busy but the window ended up looking absolutely beautiful and I was pretty proud to have been a part of it! However, I am now ready to enjoy my time off and do pretty much nothing!

On a slightly more exciting note, I'm off home on Tuesday to see my Dad for his Birthday and then I'm off to France on Saturday with my friend Chris for a short break away! I'm so excited as I never really been to France before and I've heard it's one of the most beautiful places to be.  I'm very much looking forward to strolling down the Riviera, eating French pastries and drinking a lot of wine. Mmm, it's gonna be good. It's also a chance to whack out the red lippy and laid back clothing approach. Sometimes I wish I could channel the French looks more easily, it's so understated and beautiful.

As for the rest of today though, I'm simply going to wait for my washing to be done, search for things to do in France (I'm going to the South of France to Nice - realised I didn't mention that!), watch some television and relax. Yep, I'm liking today.

Happy Sunday everyone! <3
