Went quiet again, didn't I?

Sometimes I don't think I'll ever quite get the hang of this blog here thing of mine.

So I went to LA..

Just casually strolling down Rodeo Drive, pretending I belong...

So at the beginning of the month, I flew all the way to LA to visit my lovely American Friend Laney! I had the most wonderful time with her and definitely enjoyed the well-deserved sunshine on my winter deprived skin!

The Sunday Edit: Adulting: 101

Adulting (v): to carry out one or more of the duties and responsibilities expected of fully developed individuals (paying off that credit card debt, settling beef without blasting social media, etc). Exclusively used by those who adult less than 50% of the time.

Yep. That's me in a nutshell right now.

Balance and Routine

I think one of the things I've been struggling with most lately, is routine. I always seem to be coming up with new ideas and ways in which to change up my life and routine so that I feel more in control and like I'm doing something I'll want to stick to. The only problem is, I don't ever seem to stick to it.

One week I think "okay, lets going swimming three times a week, have a quiet night in once a week, sort out finances on Tuesday" etc. And then the week after that? It's most likely different because I read an article, watched a youtube video or got given advice that suggests I should maybe give this or that a go. This ultimately messes with my balance and I end up more confused than I did before. Am I alone in this, or does this happen to you guys too? If so I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on it and how you've found a routine for you (If you have one!)

When it comes to a working day, I pretty much have that covered. I know how I like to work, when I like to work and when I function best. I know when I function best with exercise too (although I still don't always stick to that) I just feel as though there are so many people out there on Youtube, Instagram, Blogs etc that all seem to have a pretty functional and consistent routine that they seem pretty damn happy with. I often think my downfall is looking at their routines and then trying to adapt mine when in reality, what works for them, isn't guaranteed at all to work for me. Also, none of us should really be looking at stuff like that and making comparisons because as we all know, a lot of that stuff is made to look perfect. Still doesn't help though, does it?

I'm afraid this has also translated into my blog and how I run it, which if I'm honest, is terrible. I've had a few of you message and ask when my next post is coming and I then suddenly realize that I haven't actually posted in about 2 weeks and start to panic about the empty space. So for that guys, I'm sorry. I'm hoping that things will change around here soon. I won't say when, or how I plan to do this, but I am going to sort out some kind of schedule so at least you guys know what and when to expect from me! It'll also give me the kick up the butt I need to actually post the content I want to share and love because that's what it's all about for me. I love this little space of mine, I just need to give it a little more attention and it'll come together, I'm sure.

Who knows, maybe one day I'll post on here about how I've found my perfect routine and how you can get yours too! That'll be the day, huh.

Keep your eyes peeled guys, things will get more settled around here.

Driving through Iceland

One thing I can't recommend enough if you're planning on driving through Iceland is a decent 4X4. Believe me, it will save your bacon on more than one occasion and will the greatest investment you make...

Waterfalls of Iceland - Skogafoss & Selijandfoss

Little did we know that this stunning waterfall was literally right next door to where we were staying. Literally. That's what happens when you get snowed in and can't explore for 12 hours...

Arriving in Iceland

You wanna know something we didn't expect when arriving in Iceland? The sheer volume of snow that had fallen and was about to fall.

That didn't stop us from having the time of our loves though...

Lets see the World

First off, thumbs up for the re-use of this photo. I think I took this about 4 years ago...
Oh well, it fits the situation! As that's pretty much what I've been doing in January, sat at my laptop and planning my way through 2018, now hailed as "the year of travel!"
I was supposed to keep it to just a couple of places this year but instead, I've decided to go for it and I'm now finding myself finishing off the booking process for my fifth trip of the year! The first on the list? A personal bucket-list place of mine - Iceland!
I'm so excited to visit this extraordinary country and it's stunning can't find anywhere else views, it's been a dream of mine for so long to visit! Northern Lights here I come (hopefully) So keep your eyes peeled boys and girls, my camera is going to be well and truly battered while I'm there and I expect this trip to span across a lot more than a couple of posts. It may well take me until my next trip to get them all up! (Which is LA, for any of you who are wondering. Another exciting one!)
Now to browse the internet for my 6th trip...
